Started your braces in the Philippines and now living in Dubai? You are not alone. Many Filipino patients arrive in the UAE in the middle of orthodontic treatment and worry about what happens next. The good news is that braces can usually be continued here. This guide explains how a braces transfer works, what to bring, and what to expect at your first visit at Anytime Dental in Deira or Barsha Heights.
At a glance
- Braces transfer cases from the Philippines and other countries are accepted at both branches.
- Bring your records if you can: X-rays, photos, treatment plan and notes from your previous dentist.
- First step is a free consultation and check-up, with in-house X-ray if needed.
- Open daily 10 AM to 9 PM, walk-ins welcome. Team speaks English and Tagalog.
- Pay by cash, card, Tabby or Tamara. Final price is confirmed after consultation.
Can you continue braces started in the Philippines?
In most cases, yes. Braces work the same way everywhere: brackets hold a wire, and the wire is changed and adjusted over time to move teeth step by step. A new dentist can take over once they understand where your treatment is now and where it is supposed to end.
What changes is the plan. Every dentist checks your bite, your teeth and your gums with their own eyes before continuing. Sometimes the original plan continues as it is. Sometimes small changes are needed, for example a different wire sequence or replacing a loose bracket. Your dentist will explain this clearly before any work starts.
What to bring to your first visit
Records help your new dentist understand your case faster. Before you leave the Philippines, or by message to your previous clinic, try to get:
- X-rays, especially the panoramic and side (cephalometric) X-rays taken at the start.
- Before photos of your teeth and smile.
- Your treatment plan: the goal, any planned extractions, and the estimated total duration.
- Progress notes: when braces were placed, the current wire size and the last adjustment date.
- Bracket type: metal, ceramic or self-ligating, if your previous dentist can tell you.
No records? You can still come in. Our dentists can examine your teeth and take new X-rays in the clinic, since both branches have in-house X-ray.
What happens at the transfer consultation
1. Check-up and records review
The dentist checks your brackets, wires, bite and gum health, then reviews any records you brought. If needed, X-rays are taken on the same day.
2. Plan for the rest of your treatment
You will hear what is left to do, how often you need adjustments, and an estimated time to finish. Treatment time depends on your case and on attending regular visits.
3. Clear estimate before you decide
You receive an estimate for the remaining treatment. Prices shown online are estimates only. The final price is confirmed after consultation, because every transfer case is different.
What affects the cost of continuing braces in Dubai
- How much treatment is left (early stage, middle or near the end).
- Whether brackets or wires need to be replaced.
- Whether new X-rays are needed.
- Retainers needed at the end of treatment.
- Any other dental work found during the check-up, such as cleaning or fillings.
To spread the cost, you can pay with Tabby or Tamara, as well as cash or card. If you have dental insurance, Anytime Dental works on a reimbursement basis: you pay at the clinic and claim from your insurer using the documents we provide. There is no direct billing.
Tips while you are in between dentists
- Try not to wait too long between your last adjustment and your first visit in Dubai. A long gap can slow progress.
- Keep brushing around every bracket and use an interdental brush or floss threader.
- Avoid hard and sticky foods that can break brackets.
- If a wire pokes your cheek, cover it with orthodontic wax and book a visit.
- Keep wearing elastics only if your previous dentist told you to, and mention them at your consultation.
Risks to know about
Like any orthodontic treatment, braces carry some risks. These can include tooth soreness after adjustments, gum irritation, white marks on teeth if cleaning is poor, root shortening in some cases, and teeth moving back if retainers are not worn after treatment. A change of dentist mid-treatment can also mean the plan or the timeline changes. Results vary from person to person. Your dentist will discuss the risks that apply to you.
