Root Canal Cost in Dubai: Prices and What Affects Them

A tooth that aches when you bite, reacts to hot drinks for a long time, or has a deep cavity may need root canal treatment. One of the first questions patients ask at our Deira and Barsha Heights branches is how much a root canal costs in Dubai. The short answer is that it depends mainly on which tooth is treated and whether it needs a crown afterwards. This guide explains the price ranges at Anytime Dental, what changes the final bill, and what to expect during treatment.

At a glance

  • Root canal price depends mostly on the tooth: front teeth usually have one canal, molars often have three or more.
  • Early Christmas Offers from 1 November 2026: front tooth AED 800, premolar AED 1,200, molar AED 1,500 (estimates, both branches).
  • Back teeth often need a crown after a root canal, which is a separate cost.
  • Free consultation and in-house X-ray. Final price is confirmed after examination.
  • Open daily 10 AM to 9 PM in Deira (Al Ghurair Centre) and Barsha Heights (Tecom). Walk-ins welcome.

What is root canal treatment?

Inside every tooth is soft tissue called the pulp, which holds nerves and blood vessels. When decay, a crack or an old deep filling lets bacteria reach the pulp, it can become inflamed or infected. Root canal treatment removes that tissue, cleans and shapes the canals inside the root, and seals them. The aim is to keep your natural tooth instead of extracting it. You can read more on our root canal treatment page.

What affects the price of a root canal?

Which tooth is treated

Front teeth usually have a single, straight canal. Premolars may have one or two. Molars at the back often have three or four canals, some of them narrow or curved, so treatment takes longer. This is the main reason a molar root canal costs more than a front tooth.

Whether you need a crown afterwards

After a root canal, a tooth can become more brittle, especially if a large part of it was lost to decay. Back teeth take strong biting forces, so dentists often recommend a crown to protect them. A front tooth with enough healthy structure may only need a filling. Your dentist will explain which option suits your tooth. More details are on our dental crowns page.

Infection and number of visits

Some root canals are finished in one visit. If there is an active infection or swelling, the dentist may place medicine inside the tooth and complete the treatment at a second visit. Retreatment of a tooth that already had a root canal elsewhere can also take longer.

What happens during the visit

  1. Free consultation and an X-ray taken in the clinic to check the roots and the bone around them.
  2. Local anaesthetic to numb the area.
  3. The dentist opens the tooth, removes the inflamed or infected pulp, then cleans and shapes each canal.
  4. The canals are filled and sealed, and a temporary or permanent filling closes the tooth.
  5. If needed, a crown is prepared at a later visit.

Risks to know: like any dental treatment, a root canal has risks. The tooth may feel tender for a few days, a small instrument can rarely separate inside a canal, some infections return and need retreatment or extraction, and a treated tooth without proper protection can crack. Your dentist will explain the risks for your specific tooth before you decide.

Paying for your root canal

You can pay by cash, card, Tabby or Tamara. Insurance is on a reimbursement basis only: you pay at the clinic, and we give you the documents to claim from your insurer. We do not offer direct billing. Whether your plan covers a root canal depends on your policy.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a root canal in Dubai?

At Anytime Dental, during the Early Christmas Offers from 1 November 2026, a root canal is estimated at AED 800 for a front tooth, AED 1,200 for a premolar and AED 1,500 for a molar. The final price is confirmed after a free consultation and X-ray, and offers cannot be combined.

Do I need a crown after a root canal?

Not always. Back teeth often need a crown because they take strong biting forces. A front tooth with enough healthy structure may only need a filling. Your dentist decides after examining the tooth.

Does a root canal hurt?

The treatment is done under local anaesthetic, so most patients feel pressure rather than sharp pain. The tooth may feel tender for a few days afterwards. Tell your dentist if you feel discomfort during the visit.

How many visits does a root canal take?

Many root canals are finished in one visit. Teeth with infection, swelling or previous treatment may need two visits, plus another visit if a crown is needed.

Is root canal treatment covered by insurance?

It depends on your policy. Anytime Dental works on a reimbursement basis: you pay at the clinic and we give you the documents to claim from your insurer.
